Cooling maintenance
The GPA35's safe operating envelope depends entirely on maintaining adequate cooling of the final RF stage:
- Minimum forced airflow: 20 CFM across the heatsink at full drive.
- Case-to-ambient thermal resistance must stay at or below 0.331 C/W – this is a property of the thermal interface material (TIM) and heatsink contact, not something the operator adjusts, but it degrades if the interface is disturbed or contaminated.

Repair guidance
- Do not attempt board-level repair in the field. Incorrect rework of the PA stage or its bias network can destroy the unit or invalidate calibration.
- If a unit is suspected faulty after working through Troubleshooting, power it down (Operating Procedures & Safety Precautions shutdown sequence), record the telemetry/error state, and contact Qynosys for RMA/repair instructions.
